Krótko o Grze – R4TG Alien Artifacts

Wszystkich fanów Race for the Galaxy tuż przed targami w Essen zmroziła informacja, że najnowszy dodatek „Alien Artifacts”, pomimo wcześniejszych zapowiedzi nie będzie pokazywany na targach w Essen. Pojawiły się nawet plotki, że Rio Grande Games nie będzie wydawać tej gry i przekaże prawa komuś innemu. Całe szczęście na miejscu okazało się, że można spróbować dodatku z autorem Tomem Lehmannem – długo nie myśląc zapisałem się na demo i z wielkim „bananem” na twarzy przyszedłem na umówioną godzinę zagrać w moją ulubioną grę.

Pierwsze zaskoczenie: to brak „ładnego” prototypu. Jak na grę, która już miała być wydana, brak porządnej wersji do testowania jest dziwny. Natomiast wszystkie nowe karty można było obejrzeć na ipadzie i pierwsze wrażenia są bardzo pozytywne. Sporo nowych właściwości powiązanych z Alien Orb (dodatkowa talia kart, z które będzie ułożona plansza, po której będą wędrować smeeple – space meeple – graczy). Pomimo pierwszego zaskoczenia możliwość zagrania jednym z oryginalnych prototypów była świetnym bonusem.

Drugie zaskoczenie: graliśmy w wersję „normalną” bez Alien Orba. Po prostu zwyczajny Race for the Galaxy z nowymi kartami. Jedyna zmiana w regułach to możliwość wybrania świata startowego z dwóch wylosowanych – coś co wprowadził On the Brink of War. Brak Alien Orba trochę mnie niepokoi – czy coś jest nie tak z tą wersją gry? Jest niezbalansowana? Musi być jeszcze poprawiona? Nowa data wydania to Grudzień 2012 więc wydaje mi się, że wszystko jest ok, a wydawca chce zostawić niespodziankę na sam koniec.

Wrażenia: jedna z najlepszych partii w Race for the Galaxy jaką miałem. Trafiła mi się świetna ekipa do grania – weseli i bardzo przyjaźni ludzie… no i oczywiście sam autor. Równie dobrze mogłem grać tylko w podstawkę i bym bawił się równie dobrze. Po zakończonej partii miałem ochotę usiąść z nimi wszystkimi zagrać jeszcze raz. Ponieważ tak się świetnie bawiłem (i z chęci ogrania Toma) nie pamiętam za wielu nowych kart i wydaje mi się, że nie jest to w tym momencie ważne. Będzie nowy dodatek, który świetnie łączy się z podstawką – to mi wystarczy.

Plotki: Na stoisku można było podziwiać okładkę nowej gry „Roll for the Galaxy” – wiem tylko tyle, że najpierw ma być Alien Artifacts, a potem Roll for the Galaxy (cytując Toma: „Przynajmniej dzięki temu wiem, że jest tam u nich jakiś porządek i plan, ale żadnych dokładnych dat nie znam”). Wersja online (na goko.com) jest na ukończeniu. Odpowiedzialnym za interfejs i sztuczną inteligencję jest Keldon – czyli autor moim zdaniem najlepszego klienta online ( i sztucznej inteligencji) do Race’a – nie muszę chyba mówić jak mnie to cieszy. Tom Lehmann miał wpływ na interfejs i dbał o to, żeby grało się nam wszystkim jak najlepiej.

Aha – mojej partii nie wygrałem (wszystkie militarne światy trafiały jakimś cudem do Toma Lehmanna), ale przynajmniej udało mi się być trzecim i mieć więcej punktów od autora gry.

    Zmniejsz zdjęcia, bo po kliknięciu na miniaturkę nie da się ich oglądać – są tak wielkie.
