Często w Cotygodniku opisujemy pierwsze wrażenia z nowości, w jakie była okazja zagrać. Czasem jednak zdarzy się i tak, że w całym odcinku nie pojawi się żadna świeża pozycja. Wszak grywamy też w starsze tytuły, szczególnie te, które przypadły nam do gustu, i wrażeniami w tych rozgrywek również warto się podzielić. Dzisiaj zatem Cotygodnik ze starymi znajomymi.

Jakiś czas temu na rynku pojawiły się nowe edycje kultowych Potworów w Tokio  i Potworów w Nowym Yorku. W wakacje z kolei Egmont wydał polskie wersje dodatków do obu gier (kompatybilnych z nowymi edycjami) pn. Doładowanie wraz z dwoma nowymi potworami King Kong i Cthulhu. Games Fanatic jest patronem medialnym obu tytułów, dlatego też już w drugiej połowie września możecie się spodziewać nie tylko recenzji gier i dodatków, ale też i konkursów z nimi związanych.

Ja właśnie w miniony weekend miałem okazję odświeżyć sobie przygodę z tokijskimi potworami, a przy okazji pierwszy raz zagrać w nie wraz z dodatkiem Doładowanie.

Dla tych, którzy nie wiedzą – Potwory w Tokio jest to świetna rodzinna turlanka, zdobywca najważniejszej polskiej nagrody planszówkowej – Gra Roku 2014, pełna emocji, śmiechu i negatywnej interakcji. Gracze wcielają się w tytułowe potwory i dzięki nim próbują zdobyć panowanie w stolicy Japonii.

Walczymy przy użyciu kostek, za pomocą których zadajemy rany, leczymy punkty życia, zdobywamy energię do zakupu specjalnych zdolności, a także – dzięki kartom z dodatku Doładowanie – ewoluujemy zyskując nowe nadzwyczajne moce. Możemy też grać bardziej pacyfistycznie i kryjąc się na uboczu zdobywać punkty zwycięstwa za pomocą odpowiednich wyników na kościach (z pewnością jednak nasze pacyfistyczne podejście zostanie szybko zauważone i reszta  potworów skieruje na nas swoją agresję).

Gra kończy się kiedy któryś z potworów zdobędzie 20 punktów zwycięstwa (poza kostkami PZ przynosi również wejście i przebywanie w centrum Tokio) lub gdy na placu boju pozostanie tylko jedno monstrum (wszystkie potwory mają po 10 punktów życia).

Podczas rozgrywki sytuacja zmienia się jak w kalejdoskopie – w jednej chwili bestia będąca krok od zwycięstwa może znaleźć się w połowie stawki, a potwór w pełni zdrowy w kolejnej rundzie może walczyć o życie. Do tego wiele prostych, ale istotnych decyzji – wybór kostek, kart ewolucja, karty zdolności, ustawienie potwora (w centrum Tokio zdobywamy punkty zwycięstwa, ale jesteśmy narażeni na więcej ataków i nie możemy się leczyć).

Gra wyśmienita –  prosta, lekka, grywalna i emocjonująca,  do tego świetnie wykonana. I tylko jedna wada – można odpaść i to już na początku rozgrywki. A wtedy (zwłaszcza przy większej liczbie graczy) można czekać na koniec partii dłużej niż się w niej uczestniczyło.

Pamiętacie jak to było na samym początku waszej planszówkowej przygody? Gdy tylko zasiadłam do pierwszych partii natychmiast zostałam zasypana entuzjazmem wspólgraczy, a wraz z nim całą listą gier, w które koniecznie trzeba zagrać choć raz. Bo taka wspaniała, cudowna, klasyk i wstyd nie znać. Część gier z tej listy faktycznie udało mi się poznać, ale muszę przyznać, że jest jedna z którą do tej pory jakoś się rozmijałam – Dominion. Nie raz i nie dwa, widziałam ją na różnych targach i imprezach około planszówkowych, ale brakło okazji do zagrania. Na wszystko najwyraźniej musi przyjść właściwa pora. Przy okazji klubu gier planszowych w osiedlowej bibliotece Dominion wylądował na stole, a ja w końcu mogłam zakrzyknąć w duchu: w końcu się udało!

Dominion to rasowy deck building. Startujemy z małą pulą kart, za których pomocą rozbudowujemy swoją talię i dzięki temu umacniamy pozycję w grze. Tura gracza została tu podzielona na 3 fazy: akcji, zakupu i porządków. Każdą z nich wykonujemy tylko raz w swojej turze, chyba że zagrywamy karty, które pozwalają nam na uzyskanie dodatkowych ruchów.

Naprawdę doceniam prostotę zasad tej gry i jej przyjazność dla początkujących graczy. Wystarczy chwila na zapoznanie się z instrukcją i można zaczynać – zwłaszcza jeśli miało się wcześniej do czynienia z jakimkolwiek deck buildingiem. Ma ona również świetną regrywalność. Podstawowa wersja gry daje nam możliwość wykorzystania różnych kombinacji talii, sprawiając że kolejne partie mogą się znacznie od siebie różnić – poczynając od szybkich rozgrywek z dużą ilością negatywnej interakcji, po wolniejsze ciułanie punktów. A przecież jest do niego masa dodatków, które jeszcze bardziej urozmaicają grę. Dzięki temu (i dosyć szybkiej rozgrywce) Dominion ma syndrom jeszcze jednej partii. Koniecznie chce się wypróbować różne kombinacje startowych talii. My zagraliśmy trzy razy i pewnie gdyby nie zabrakło nam czasu, gralibyśmy dalej. Choć momentami gra jest losowa – niby wiem co mamy w talii, ale licho wie jak się karty ułożą – sprawia mnóstwo frajdy, zwłaszcza jeśli uda się zebrać jakiś dłuższy kombos dający mnóstwo gotówki na zakup wysoko punktowanych kart.

Dominion pozytywnie mnie zaskoczył. Tyle się o nim nasłuchałam (zwłaszcza przy tłumaczeniu zasad innych gier – „No wiesz, tak jak w Dominionie”), że zaczęłam się obawiać, że nie sprosta on mojemu wyobrażeniu i oczekiwaniom stworzonym przez innych graczy. Okazało się jednak, że zdecydowanie zasłużył sobie na miano klasycznej, niemal legendarnej gry.
