Kroniki zbrodni zdążyły już zadomowić się na naszych półkach. Kolejne odsłony serii szturmem wdzierają się na nasze stoły. Jednakże warto przypomnieć pewien dodatek, który niedawno otrzymał nagrodę w stosownej kategorii w konkursie Planszowa Gra Roku. Mowa oczywiście o Kronikach Zbrodni: Noir, gdzie przenosimy się w świat zapijaczonych detektywów oraz przebiegłych femme fatale. Dlaczego warto przenieść się w spowite w czerń i biel lata 40? Cóż zbrodnia zdecydowanie dodaje pikanterii rozwiązywanym zagadkom…

Osobiście jestem fanką dedukcji, zbrodni oraz mrocznych aspektów ludzkiej natury. Uwielbiam też zagadki oraz głowienie się nad rozwiązaniem nawet najbardziej zawiłych logicznych problemów. A Dashiell Hammett oraz Raymond Chandler mają specjalne miejsce w moim sercu. Niemniej same nawiązania i sugerowany klimat to zdecydowanie za mało, aby stworzyć dobrą grę. Nie mówiąc już o tym, że rozmawiamy o dodatku, który ma z założenia wprowadzić coś nowego do rozgrywki.

Kroniki zbrodni są specyficzną grą. Oscylują między paragrafówkami a grami dedukcyjnymi. Forma rozgrywki bazująca na okularkach, za pomocą których możemy oglądać miejsca przestępstw, nie każdemu przypadła do gustu. Niektórzy narzekali na przerost formy nad treścią – ot proste zagadki, zyskujące na trudności przez swoje „opakowanie”, czyli styl prowadzenia gry. Jednakże ja lubię prowadzić śledztwa w Kronikach Zbrodni. Wiem jakiego doświadczenia mogę się spodziewać.

Czy poczujecie się jak detektyw? Czy znajdziecie punkty wspólne z innymi d dedukcyjnymi pozycjami? Raczej przypomnicie sobie stare  dobre  czasy zaskryptowanych przygodówek point and click, gdzie aby pokonać potwora trzeba kupić ciasto u mleczarki, ale nie możecie na razie tego zrobić, bo nie zabraliście buta żebrakowi, gdyż przegapiliście kwiat mandragory w lesie. A w Kronikach Zbrodni powrócicie do przeszłości za pomocą kilkunastu kart, planszy i (wedle uznania) okularków.

Kroniki zbrodni: Noir nie wyłamują się z tego schematu. Owszem nie zapytacie o konkretną rzecz, o ile nie załatwiliście innych spraw w odpowiednim czasie. Skrypt goni skrypt. Niemniej mi to nie przeszkadzało. Wiedziałam na co się godzę. Aczkolwiek w tym dodatku dodano jedną fajną rzecz, która sprawiła, że więcej tutaj gry w grze. Mniej paragrafów do odczytania, a więcej decyzji do podjęcia.

Mowa o kartach Włamania, Obserwacji, Pobicia i Przekupstwa. Teraz można ruszyć naprzód na kilka różnych sposobów. Albo wpakować się w niepotrzebne kłopoty. Wiecie część ludzi źle reaguje na przemoc, a jak skończą nam się pieniądze to z przekupstwa nici. Nowe karty zapewnią nam nie tylko trochę klimatu, lecz także umożliwiają sprawdzenie mniej liniowych rozwiązań. Naturalnie w pewnych momentach może być to irytujące, bo niepotrzebnie nas spowolni lub zamknie ścieżki, które koniecznie chcieliśmy sprawdzić. Coś za coś. Mniejsza oczywistość rozwiązań zwiększa przecież poziom trudności.

Same sprawy (nie tylko ze względu na klimat) są również trudniejsze niż w podstawce. Tutaj każda kolejna zagadka jest  bardziej skomplikowana. Schematy z wcześniejszych scenariuszy także na niewiele się przydają. Aby przejść wszystko z satysfakcjonującym wynikiem naprawdę sporo się nagłowimy. Co ciekawe aplikacja jakby wychodzi naprzeciw naszym oczekiwaniom i daje naprawdę pomocne podpowiedzi w odpowiednich miejscach. Kiedy byliśmy blisko wskazania odpowiedniego przedmiotu, to zasugeruje nam czego tak naprawdę powinniśmy użyć. Fajnie, że ten element skryptu został usunięty. Podstawka mocno irytowała, gdy blokowaliśmy się wskazaniem listu, a przecież trzeba było pokazać kartę dokumentu (chociaż w fabule był to konkretnie list). Przykład jest czysto poglądowy, aby nie psuć wam zabawy spoilerami ;)

Zresztą sama aplikacja też wydaje się lepiej pracować. Może to tylko moje odczucia, ale tym razem żaden bug nie niweczył naszych wysiłków. A i klimacik… Ten dym papierosowy, brudne biura, przemoc i korupcja. Ach, te złote czasy ;) No trochę go było i trochę go nie było. To wciąż są Kroniki Zbrodni, zmieniło się tylko opakowanie. Właściwie każdą ze spraw można by rozegrać w zupełnie innym settingu.  Oczywiście dodatek nie jest pozbawiony wad podstawki. Dalej większość przygód jest liniowych, podążamy za skryptem. Spraw jest mało, a są przecież jednorazowe. Noir nie naprawił tych wszystkich wad. Jednakże w swojej kategorii (tzn. bycia dodatkiem) jest naprawdę bardzo dobry. Nie psuje dobrych rozwiązań, lecz dodaje kilka nowych, które pozwalają wycisnąć z tego tytułu jeszcze więcej. Aczkolwiek duch serii został zachowany.

Kroniki Zbrodni: Noir to fantastyczny dodatek, który powinien znaleźć się u każdego fana podstawki. Dostajemy więcej dobra, część irytujących drobiazgów została usunięta. Takie właśnie powinny być dodatki – zapewniające nowe możliwości przy jednoczesnym nie psuciu dobrych rozwiązań. Zdecydowanie zasłużone zwycięstwo w Planszowej Grze Roku w tej kategorii :)

Plusy:
+ nowe karty zapewniają więcej „gry w grze”
+ mniej schematyczna – nowe możliwości rozwiązywania spraw
+ naprawia mankamenty podstawki, ale nie niczego nie psuje
+ trudne zagadki
+ aplikacja lepiej się sprawuje
+ przekłada doświadczenie ze starych przygodówek point and click na świat gier bez prądu…

Minusy:
– ale nie każdemu będzie to pasować – dalej dzielnie poruszamy się po skrypcie
– złe wybory mogą nas spowolnić, a nawet zablokować interesujące ścieżki w scenariuszu
– za mało spraw
– klimacik trochę był, ale właściwie to go nie było

Co znaczy ta ocena według Games Fanatic?
Bardzo dobry przedstawiciel swojego gatunku, godny polecania. Wady mało znaczące, nie przesłaniające mocno pozytywnego odbioru całości. Gra daje dużo satysfakcji.
