Niespełniona obietnica mięsistej polityki

Pojęcie „demokracji” w grach planszowych brzmi jak obietnica mięsistej, pełnej emocji interakcji. Oczami wyobraźni widzimy polityczne ubieganie się o wpływy, ciche pakty koalicyjne i ten satysfakcjonujący moment, gdy podstępem pozbawiamy rywala większości parlamentarnej. Niestety, japońska scena indie ma wyjątkową tendencję do pakowania genialnych konceptów w pudełka, których zawartość po otwarciu okazuje się wyłącznie festiwalem frustracji.

 

 

Japońska jakość w wersji „zrób to sam”

Pomimo potężnej dawki sceptyzmu, która będzie wylewać się z tej recenzji, muszę uczciwie przyznać, że fizyczne wykonanie Guessocracy stoi na zaskakująco wysokim poziomie. W środku znajdziemy dwa gumowe standy, garść solidnych, różnokolorowych kości oraz chustkę chowającą naszą „urnę wyborczą”. Do tego dołączono japońskie karty wraz z papierowymi wkładkami tłumaczącymi tekst na język angielski. To wprawdzie anglicyzacja dość „po taniości”, ale da się ją przeboleć – po wycięciu wkładek i zakoszulkowaniu całości właściwie nie widać różnicy. Szkoda tylko, że tego samego poziomu staranności nie da się zauważyć w samej rozgrywce.

Trzy sekundy pamięci i spartaczona punktacja

Trzonem (i zaryzykuję stwierdzenie, że jedynym sensem) rozgrywki jest najzwyklejsze w świecie memory. Po rzucie kośćmi mamy zaledwie trzy sekundy na błyskawiczne zapamiętanie, który wynik pojawił się najczęściej. Następnie, w tajemnicy na swoich licznikach, obstawiamy najczęściej i najrzadziej występującą wartość. I tu zaczynają się schody, bo punktują wszyscy gracze stanowiący większość – niezależnie od tego, czy ich wskazanie faktycznie było poprawne! Wtedy dowolny gracz z mniejszości może wnieść sprzeciw, by zweryfikować, czy przodująca frakcja miała rację.

Brzmi jak obietnica dedukcji i zmyślnego blefu? Może i miałoby to rację bytu, gdyby nie dokumentnie spartaczony system punktacji. Gracz, który niczym Rejtan „walczy o prawdę”, ryzykuje utratę aż trzech punktów. W grze, która kończy się błyskawicznie (liczba rund równa się liczbie graczy), jeden błędny sprzeciw właściwie całkowicie dyskwalifikuje delikwenta z dalszej walki. W naszych partiach głównym problemem było jednak to, że gracze… po prostu dobrze liczyli. A taka sytuacja wysysała z zabawy resztki jakiejkolwiek radości. Większość zgarniała po darmowym punkcie i ziewając, przechodziliśmy do kolejnego rzutu. Ta gra nabiera rumieńców tylko wtedy, gdy na stole panuje absolutny chaos – niestety system w ogóle go nie promuje, przez co negatywnej interakcji jest tu jak na lekarstwo.

Mizerne dodatki i iluzja wyścigu

Kiedy na początku wyjmowałem gumowe standy z pudełka, byłem święcie przekonany, że element zręcznościowy i rywalizacja „kto pierwszy, ten lepszy” dodadzą rozgrywce niezbędnego pieprzyku. Nic z tego – wyścigu tu nie uświadczycie. Ot, ktoś czasem łapał znacznik trochę na siłę, bardziej z desperackiej chęci ożywienia niemrawej zabawy niż z potrzeby realizacji jakiejkolwiek strategii. Mechanicznie ten ruch okazywał się w większości przypadków po prostu nieopłacalny.

Do gry dołączono karty, które z jednej strony są niezbędne, by w ogóle mówić tu o jakiejkolwiek głębi (granie w wariant podstawowy jest boleśnie łatwe i policzalne), a z drugiej – wcale nie ratują sytuacji. Część z nich (pomarańczowa talia) to irytujące „imprezowe” zapychacze, wymuszające bieganie dookoła stołu czy pseudozabawne relacjonowanie przebiegu obrad. Z kolei talia zielona wprowadza nieco ciekawsze modyfikatory do samego procesu liczenia. To jednak zdecydowanie zbyt mało, by przykuć moją uwagę na dłużej. Rdzeń rozgrywki jest na to zbyt błahy i banalny, by jakikolwiek dodatek mógł realnie wpłynąć na moją opinię.

Podsumowanie: Wyborcza katastrofa

Gdy na stół trafia Saikoromin: Zhu Zhu Yi Demekurashi (znane na Zachodzie jako Guessocracy lub Dice Democracy), bardzo szybko wychodzi na jaw przykra prawda. Zamiast wyrafinowanego pokazu politycznego sprytu, dostajemy losowy, bezcelowy chaos, nad którym nikt nie ma żadnej kontroli. Odradzam zakup absolutnie wszystkim, niezależnie od growych upodobań. Zagrać w to można ewentualnie po bardzo dużej dawce alkoholu.

Zupełnie jak z oglądaniem na poważnie typowej kampanii wyborczej.

Co znaczy ta ocena według Games Fanatic?
Da sie grać, ale nie bardzo jest powód, żeby to robić. Nie polecilibyśmy jej nikomu, bo potężne wady przesłaniają kompletnie nieliczne, drobne plusiki, które gdzieś tam próbują się nieśmiało wyłonić. Raczej dla desperatów.
