Gdy otrzymywałem Gigaton do opisania nie wiedzieć czemu połączenie haseł: wyścigi, wertepy, pustynia wytworzyło we mnie oczekiwania: spluwy i psucie krwi oponentom. Niczym nie poparte spodziewania zostały jednak spełnione w ciekawy sposób. Zapraszam do czytania.

I. Wykonanie

Pierwsze wrażenie po otwarciu pudełka jest przerażające: rozwijający się zwój pomocy gracza, który się ciągnie i cięgnie… Gdyby w jego miejsce włożyć kolejną książeczkę (nie bez przyczyny od II w.n.e. zmieniła się główna forma wydawnicza) zarówno odbiór, jak i użytkowanie byłyby przyjemniejsze.

Myślę, że trafił mi się egzemplarz prototypowy, zatem gdy gra trafi na rynek ślady druku 3D (poziome rowki na wszystkich figurkach) powinny zostać usunięte.

Głównym problemem jest jednak czytelność ,,optyczna” elementów. Jak autor używa pomocy gracza jako uzupełnienia instrukcji, tak ja posłużę się tu zdjęciem. Ścigacz wjeżdżający na transporter ma wysokość 1, wjeżdżając na wysokość 2 musi się zatrzymać. Niemniej stojąc na transporterze ma wysokość trzy, więc mimo, że naszym oczom zdaje się, że wjeżdżając na buldożer znowu jedzie pod górkę, go obowiązują w tym przypadku inne zasady, gdyż jest na ,,równym poziomie” z dachem obiektu na który wjeżdża. Nauka tego jest dość męcząca.

II. Mechanika

Celem gry jest zostawienie flag w trzech narożnikach planszy i powrót do punktu startowego (czyli w 99% okrążenie planszy) zanim zrobią to inni gracze.

W trakcie swojej tury gracz może albo spasować, co oznacza zarobienie dwóch baryłek ropy i przesunięcie się na torze kolejności następnej rundy, albo podjąć akcję w ramach której można wykorzystać szereg opcji. W większości zmuszeni jesteśmy zapłacić ropą, albo narzędziami. Można poświęcić swoje zasoby by zmienić swoją kolejność w następnej rundzie, przejąć kontrolę nad jedną z frakcji (i zapłacić jeszcze raz by poruszyć obydwoma jej pojazdami, nie jednym). Oraz (jedyna rzecz, której nie wykonamy kilka razy w turze) poruszyć swój ścigacz.

Pojazdy frakcji mają swoje zdolności specjalne. Jeden może przewozić kilka aut i jedzie prawie tak szybko jak ścigacz, drugi zaś może przepychać przeszkody i inne pojazdy, czasami nawet poza planszę. Ponieważ do ich wysokości wlicza się również to co wiozą na dachu, to ich możliwości (zależne od wysokości właśnie) zwiększają się razem z obciążeniem… coś mi tu nie gra, ale instrukcja stawia sprawę jasno.

Kolejnym smaczkiem są narzędzia. Zbieramy je gdy przez pole na którym się pojawiają przejeżdża kontrolowany przez nas pojazd (ścigacz, lub frakcji). Można je wydawać zamiast ropy, ale przeważnie odrzucamy je dla odpalenia różnych efektów specjalnych: wysadzania barykad, zakopywania pojazdów, zamiany miejscami obiektów, etc. Jeśli skończą się w woreczku, następuje również alternatywne zakończenie gry.

III. Finito. Podsumowanie Wojciecha.

Pierwsze rozgrywki Gigatonu jakie rozgrywałem były szybkie, lekkie, łatwe i przyjemne. A potem na poważniej przyjrzeliśmy się zasadom. Mimo że szczegółowo rozpisane i zilustrowane wykresami karty pomocy, dalej są potwornie nieintuicyjne, ciężkie zarówno w tłumaczeniu, jak i przyswajaniu. Mózg gotuje się, kłócąc z oczami, by ustalić na jakiej wysokości znajduje się nasze auto, czy skoro nie ścigacz ma ładowność zero, to czy przejeżdżamy po jego dachu, czy obok (po dachu). Są gry w których myślimy jak ruszyć się w optymalny sposób. Tu za często kombinujemy jak nasz ruch ma wyglądać, by być zgodnym z zasadami. Żeby było śmieszniej w grach już z normalnymi zasadami auta jeździły szybciej, ale same rozgrywki były wolniejsze (z tłumaczeniem zasad przebijaliśmy się przez pudełkowe 60 min).

Gra najlepiej chodzi na 2 i 4 graczy. Przy trzech czuje się nieobecność auta na jednym z narożników.

Jak pisałem na wstępie chciałem chaosu i psucia krwi przeciwników. Dzięki możliwości jazdy frakcjami (najlepiej kiedy na dachu stoi ścigacz przeciwnika), jak również narzędziom moje oczekiwania zostały spełnione w nadmiarze.

Dobra zabawa, dużo kombinowania. Niemniej przez problem z intuicyjnością obsługi nie wiem komu Gigaton polecić. Za bardzo mózg przegrzewa (niekoniecznie w odpowiednich miejscach) by polecać go do dla ,,casuali”, a za wiele w nim zmiennych (za duża losowość) by skierować go dla hardkorowców. Niemniej podsumowując: nie żałuję.

Co znaczy ta ocena według Games Fanatic?
Do tej gry mamy konkretne zarzuty. Może być fajna i dawać satysfakcję, ale… ale jest jakieś zasadnicze „ale”. Ostatecznie warto się jej jednak bliżej przyjrzeć, bo ma dużą szansę spodobać się pewnej grupie odbiorców.

    Czy to poniżej to nie jest jakieś przejęzyczenie? Za ciężka dla casuali i zbyt skomplikowana dla hardkorowców?

      Nie rozumiem interpretacji. Za bardzo mózg przegrzewa dla niedzielnych graczy, zbyt wiele zmiennych (losowych) by rozkminiać. Ale spróbuję poprawić.

    No i chyba wszystko jest jasne. W cytowanym zdaniu zabrakło chyba słowa „losowych”. Duża ilość zmiennych, to najczęściej nie jest problem dla hardkorowców. Gorzej, gdy są one obarczone dużą losowością i nie daje się nad nimi zapanować. Jeśli tak jest w przypadku „Gigatonu” to warto to uwypuklić.
